Job summary

Akumin is hiring a Radiologic Technologist for the Wellington & Lake Worth facilities, a full-time role focused on producing high-quality diagnostic x‑ray images with strong emphasis on radiation safety and documentation.

The position requires ARRT (R) and state licensure where applicable, CPR certification, and flexibility to travel between locations. Training or coordinating with patient coordinators may be involved.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
• ARRT (R) license and state license, if applicable.
• CPR certification required.
• Valid driver’s license may be required.
• Experience in radiology settings and patient care a plus.
• Ability to travel between locations if needed.

Responsibilities

• Produces high quality diagnostic x-ray images with attention to radiation safety and proper documentation.
• Ensures patient safety including pre-screening for contraindications and aseptic technique.
• Communicates effectively with patients, radiologists, and team members.
• May train new Radiologic Technologists or patient coordinators.
• Troubleshoots X-ray unit and peripheral equipment (PACS, computers, etc.).

We are currently hiring for a Radiologic Technologist at our Wellington & Lake Worth facilities. This will be a full‑time position.

The Radiology Technologist is responsible for producing high quality diagnostic digital x‑ray images with special attention to radiation/safety regulations, including proper documentation and techniques. The technologist is responsible for ensuring effective communication with customers, including radiologists as necessary. As applicable, the technologist may assist in training new technologists and/or patient coordinators.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

• Produces high quality diagnostic x‑ray images. Special attention to radiation safety/regulations, including proper documentation and technique when working with patients and radioactive materials.
• Responsible for patient safety, including pre‑screening for contra‑indications, aseptic injection technique, etc.
• Effectively communicates with customers and radiologists.
• May train new Radiologic Technologists and/or PC’s.
• Troubleshoots the X‑ray unit and all peripheral equipment (including computers, PACS, etc.).

Position Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associate's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• ARRT (R) and state license, if applicable required.
• CPR certification required.
• As applicable, valid state driver’s license.
• Team Members working in a fixed setting:
  • Successful completion of a Radiology School.
  • Ability to work at several locations.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Organizational and multi‑tasking skills.
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
• Team Members working in a mobile setting:
  • A minimum of one year radiography or digital x‑ray experience required or preferred.
• Local travel may be required.
• The COVID‑19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment.
