Job summary

University of Rochester UR Medicine Imaging is seeking a Radiology Technologist to produce high quality X-ray images with emphasis on accuracy and service. Responsibilities include following orders, maintaining safety, and supporting radiology workflows across Emergency, Pediatric, and Cardiovascular imaging while receiving supervision from senior technologists.

Qualifications

• Completed formal training in Radiologic Technology.
• Prior experience using the standard technology and equipment for diagnostic imaging. Note that this experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Produce high quality X-ray images in a safe and efficient manner.
• Verify and follow providers' orders while complying with departmental policies.
• Demonstrate sound knowledge of anatomy, positioning, and use of immobilization devices.
• Receive training and supervision from a senior technologist to perform required tasks.
• Take independent responsibility for general section studies and complete associated paperwork while delivering high-quality images for radiologist interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for producing high quality X-ray images by conducting exams in a safe and efficient manner.
• Verifies and follows referring providers' orders while remaining in compliance with the Imaging Sciences departmental policies.
• Possesses a sound understanding of human anatomy as well as x-ray positioning and the use if immobilization devices when warranted.
• Receives training as well as regular direct supervision or guidance from a more senior technologist to perform proficiency of the required tasks.
• Takes independent responsibility for performing general section studies in a safe and efficient manner, completing all associated paper and computer work while providing high quality images for radiologist interpretation.

The Department of Imaging is much more than just x-rays, is at the forefront of diagnostic and therapeutic imaging technologies. We provide patient-focused diagnostic imaging services to Strong Memorial Hospital, as well as to patients in the Greater Rochester and Monroe County communities.

As a Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) your responsibilities include producing high quality X-Ray images, with a focus on quality, accuracy and customer service. Imaging covers a variety of specialties from Emergency to Pediatric, Bone, Abdominal, Neurological and Cardiovascular imaging.
