Job summary

University of Utah Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform radiographic procedures with attention to image quality and patient safety. This patient-facing role supports operating rooms, clinics and care units, adhering to radiation safety and department protocols.

The ideal candidate will hold current Utah licensure, ARRT registration and the University of Utah Health eCredential, and be capable of mentoring staff while maintaining flexible patient care.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in department exam protocols and procedures.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with all imaging acquisition devices.
  • Ability to perform all essential functions as listed above.
  • Effective and appropriate communication skills with patients, visitors, staff and providers.
  • Ability to select proper radiograph exposure factors and make appropriate changes when necessary to ensure quality images.
  • Ability to prioritize patient workload and be flexible to meet needs of patients.
  • Proficiency in all radiographic positioning and procedures.
  • Ability to obtain imaging on patients of varying ages and abilities.

Responsibilities

Performs radiographic procedures using ionizing radiation to produce images for radiologic diagnosis. This position provides direct patient care and may require accessing and administering medications within scope of practice and state law.

Licenses Required
  • Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • Current licensure to practice as a Radiologic Technologist in the State of Utah.
  • ARRT Registration as a Radiologic Technologist R.T. (R) (ARRT).
  • Additional license requirements as determined by the hiring department.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands

Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation.

  • This position involves intensive work that may exert up to 100 pounds and may consistently require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or otherwise moving objects such as medical equipment or patients while providing medical care.
