Job summary

Hughston Clinic is seeking a radiologic technologist to assist physicians and staff in producing high-quality radiographs. The role requires standing for extended periods, assisting patients into proper positions, and following X-ray safety protocols with PACS support.

The ideal candidate has six months of radiologic technologist experience, ARRT certification, and TN licensure, plus a BLS credential. Responsibilities include equipment upkeep, patient safety, and training junior technologists.

Responsibilities

• Stock supplies and maintain equipment.
• Ensure all equipment is functioning and report malfunctions.
• Import and upload outside CDs for clinic.

Centennial PRN Monday-Friday day shift $2,500 Sign-on Bonus

POSITION GOAL

Assist physicians and other staff members with care of patients in producing high quality radiographs.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Carries out radiology requisitions and views. Uses radiographic technique, PACS, and assists other staff members as needed.
• Memorizes the specific views each physician requires on exams.
• Assists patients in getting into the positions required to get the radiographs needed with the occasional need to lift the patient.
• Takes x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
• Stocks necessary supplies.
• Uses a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials.
• Assists with and provides direct training and supervision to student technologists.
• Ensures equipment is in working order. Reports any malfunction to supervisor in a timely manner.
• Imports and uploads outside CDs for clinic.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Experience:

• Six (6) months' experience as a radiologic technologist is required.
• Previous orthopaedic experience.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of course work in radiologic technology approved by the ARRT.
• Current ARRT certification & current TN licensure.

Special Qualifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Knowledge of radiographic technique and medical imaging system(s).
• Vast knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy.
• Ability to work independently and have working knowledge of HIPAA requirements.
• Valid Driver’s License, satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR) and proof of insurance required for position on-boarding.
• Annual MVR is required per policy and procedure; background reports may be run as needed throughout the course of employment.
