Radiologic Technologist role at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center.

Job Type: Regular. Time Type: Part time. Work Shift: Evening (United States of America). FLSA Status: Non-Exempt.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of diagnostic radiographic procedures to produce images for use in the diagnosis and treatment of medical disorders.
• Obtains and documents necessary patient information or history in order to perform appropriate exam.
• Documents all pertinent information involving the use of IV/oral contrast in medical record.
• Begins and completes exams using the Radiology Information System (RIS) with accuracy.
• Labels all images with correct patient information and technologist’s initials with accuracy.
• Ensures Quality Control of the exams by using the PACS system.
• Evaluates images to identify errors and determine whether a repeat study is necessary to improve the image for diagnoses. Aims for a low repeat rate.
• Applies the lowest dose of ionizing radiation reasonably achievable (ALARA) to produce clear images.
• Contributes to a team approach to provide optimal quality care for patients.
• Willingly works off-sites as needed and maintains licensure on an annual basis.
• Acknowledges Lahey Clinic Guiding Principles and Mission Statement in daily activities and complies with Lahey Clinic policies and behavioral expectations.
• Maintains courteous and effective interactions with colleagues and patients.
• Understands job description, performance expectations, and competency assessment.
• Participates in customer service standards and departmental quality improvement activities.
• Participates in Mandatory Education.
• Position may require moving about the department and hospital, occasional physical exertion to move equipment or assist patients, and manual dexterity for manipulative skills.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Two year AMA accredited School of Radiologic Technology

Licensure, Certification, Registration: Registered by the ARRT or registry eligible. Licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ Department of Public Health: Radiation Control Program in Radiography. Certified in basic life support (BLS).

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Proficient in the use of radiologic equipment including C-arms/portable, or the ability to be trained to a level of competency.

Experience: Completion of a Clinical internship in a hospital setting.

Vaccination requirement: As a health care organization, all staff must be vaccinated against influenza (flu) as a condition of employment.
