Job summary

Lexington Medical Center in Lexington, NC is seeking a PRN Radiologic Technologist to support the Radiology Clinic. Responsibilities include performing radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, documenting patient history, and ensuring patient identification and safety throughout exams.

  • Performs and assists with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.
  • Documents patient history pertaining to specific procedure on requisition submitted by physician.
  • Co nfirms patient identification by verbal confirmation and validating proof of identity.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media as required.
  • Consults with radiologist and other physicians as necessary.
  • Selects and operates equipment as dictated by demands of individual procedure and demonstrates correct and adequate anatomic positioning skills.
  • Maintains appropriate records as required by departmental standards.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS: Location: Lexigton Medical Center, Lexington, NC Shift Schedule: PRN

YOU’LL NEED: Graduate of an institution accredited by an agency that ARRT recognizes in Radiologic Technology Must be registry eligible with registry completion within 1 year of hire date. BLS required

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Performs and assists with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.
  • Documents patient history pertaining to specific procedure on requisition submitted by physician.
  • Confirms patient identification by verbal confirmation and validating proof of identity.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media as required.
  • Consults with radiologist and other physicians as necessary.
  • Selects and operates equipment as dictated by demands of individual procedure and demonstrates correct and adequate anatomic positioning skills.
  • Maintains appropriate records as required by departmental standards.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and demonstrates the skills and competency appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served.
