Job summary

Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta seeks an experienced Radiologic Technologist to produce diagnostic images and support radiologists in patient care.

You will perform X-ray, CT, and fluoroscopy procedures, ensuring proper patient positioning and image quality for timely diagnoses. Ideal candidates hold an AMA approved radiologic program, California licensure, ARRT registration, CPR certification, and will obtain CA fluoroscopy credentials within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an AMA approved school of radiologic technology.
• California Radiographer licensure required at hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification through the American Heart Association.
• ARRT credential for Radiography must be obtained by hire.
• Fluoroscopy Radiology tech certification in California within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Performs all radiographic procedures with knowledge of anatomy, physiology and positioning.
• Performs CT exams according to department routine.
• Demonstrates professional demeanor and triage abilities as needed.
• Coordinates workflow with center staff in a cooperative manner.
• Maintains radiation safety and compliance with Joint Commission and regulations.
• Gathers clinical information to ensure safe, accurate examinations.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions. Each day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction. To excel, you must deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.

Responsibilities

• Performs all radiographic procedures with a sound understanding of anatomy, physiology, positioning and technical factors to produce quality diagnostic images.
• Performs CT exams according to department routine.
• Demonstrates professional demeanor, ability to triage multiple requests and asks for assistance when appropriate.
• Coordinates work flow with medical center co-workers in a cooperative and collaborative manner.
• Demonstrates awareness of radiation safety principles, Joint Commission requirements, and all applicable Federal, State and local regulations.
• Gathers appropriate clinical information for each examination, assuring that safe care is delivered.
