Job summary

RAYUS Radiology is seeking a Radiologic & Bone Density (DEXA) Technologist to join our team. You will operate assigned scanners to produce diagnostic images and bone density scans, ensuring patient safety and accurate measurements. This full-time role runs Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.

Requirements include an AMA-approved radiography program, ARRT registration, state licensure if applicable, and CPR. Prior DEXA experience is preferred; bilingual candidates are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• AMA approved school of radiography.
• ARRT registered radiologic technologist in good standing.
• Licensed radiological technologist in the applicable state.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to perform radiologic and bone density procedures independently.

Responsibilities

• Operate scanners to produce radiologic images per physician orders.
• Perform bone density (DEXA) scans with patient support.
• Maintain RIS records and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• QC tasks to ensure accurate BMD measurements and equipment performance.
• Assist with imaging protocol updates and supply management.
• Train new team members as needed.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Radiologic & Bone Density (DEXA) Technologist to join our team. As a Radiologic & Bone Density (DEXA) Technologist, you will beresponsible for operating assigned scanner(s) to produce images and/or bone scans of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. This is a full-time positionMonday- Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(40%) Patient Radiologic Imaging

1. Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure
2. Explains and prepares patients for Radiologic imaging procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately imaged
3. Performs routine and advanced Radiologic imaging procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
4. Adjusts Radiologic scan parameters correctly and as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques as appropriate
5. Follows physicians' orders precisely and conforms to safety regulations to protect yourself, your patients, and coworkers

(30%) Dual Absorptiometry (DXA) / Bone Densitometry

1. Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure
2. Performs routine bone density (DXA), while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
3. Perform routine quality control (QC) and assurance tasks to ensure accurate bone mineral density (BMD) measurements and maintain equipment performance
4. Follows physicians' orders precisely and conforms to safety regulations to protect yourself, your patients, and other team members

(20%) General Technologist Duties and Responsibilities

1. Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements
2. Accurately maintain patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS)
3. Maintains an orderly and clean work area promoting good safety habits for patients and co-workers
4. Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use
5. Ensures compliance with all HIPAA guidelines

(5%) Radiologic Department Support

1. Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
2. Monitor the medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
3. Assist with the training of new team members, acting as a resource and providing technical expertise, as applicable

(5%) Other Duties and Projects as Assigned

Required:

1. High School diploma, or equivalent
2. Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
3. ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing
4. Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
5. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
6. Must have sufficient training and experience to competently perform Radiologic and Bone Density procedures independently

Preferred:

1. Experience performing Bone Density (DEXA) scans
2. Bilingual
