Job summary

RAYUS Radiology is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to join our team in Roanoke, Virginia. You will operate assigned scanner(s) to produce diagnostic images with minimal supervision.

This per diem role may involve varying shifts. Responsibilities include patient prep, positioning, RIS recordkeeping, HIPAA adherence, and safe, accurate imaging practices. CPR certification is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an AMA approved school of radiography.
• Licensed Radiologic Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable.
• Current CPR certification.
• Must have sufficient training and experience to competently perform Radiologic procedures independently.

Responsibilities

• Screens patient before exam for precautions or contradictions using two identifiers.
• Explains and prepares patients for imaging procedures and positions them for imaging.
• Performs routine and advanced radiologic imaging with minimal supervision and accurate patient communication.
• Adjusts scan parameters and uses dose reduction techniques as needed.
• Maintains RIS records, HIPAA compliance, and a clean, safe work area.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Radiologic Technologistto join our team. Come join us and shine brighter together!As a Radiologic Technologist, you will beresponsible for operating assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. This position is per diem, shifts may vary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(90%) Patient Radiologic Imaging

1. Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure
2. Explains and prepares patients for Radiologic imaging procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately imaged
3. Performs routine and advanced Radiologic imaging procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
4. Adjusts Radiologic scan parameters correctly and as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques as appropriate
5. Maintains positive attitude and working relationships with radiologists, referring customers and other team mates and peers
6. Follows physicians' orders precisely and conforms to safety regulations to protect yourself, your patients, and coworkers
7. Accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
8. Maintains an orderly and clean work area promoting good safety habits for patients and co-workers
9. Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements
10. Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use
11. Ensures compliance with all HIPAA guidelines
12. Works with a Fluoroscopy C-Arm in Surgical and Outpatient procedures

(5%) Radiologic Department Support

1. Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
2. Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
3. Assists with training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable

(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned

Required:

1. High School diploma, or equivalent
2. Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
3. Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
4. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
5. Must have sufficient training and experience to competently perform Radiologic procedures independently
