Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program required.
  • 2+ years of experience in a radiography program preferred.

The Radiography Technologist performs radiographic diagnostic imaging examinations at the RHPA X-Ray locations on patients per physician/provider orders with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.

Overview of Responsibilities
  1. Provide regular and dependable attendance.
  2. Competently operates radiographic equipment.
  3. Accurately evaluates requests for radiographic procedures.
  4. Obtains patient history and symptoms.
  5. Performs radiographic procedures per provider orders.
  6. Provides care appropriate to the age-specific needs of the patients served.
  7. Provides explanation and instruction to patients regarding radiographic procedures.
  8. Demonstrates effective communication with patients and families.
  9. Accurately performs appropriate documentation.
  10. Follows radiation safety policies and guidelines.
  11. Takes responsibility for personal radiation safety and exposure monitoring.
  12. Appropriately uses radiation protection devices.
  13. Participates in quality assurance and quality improvement activities.
  14. Assists in the clinical instruction of radiography students.
Education/Experience

Education Required: Graduate of an approved, 24-month program in Radiologic Technology accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).

Education Preferred: Additional radiology education would be nice to have.

Experience Required: A minimum of 2 years in an accredited educational program.

Experience Preferred: Additional experience as a licensed Radiography Technologist after completing the educational program would be nice to have.

Licensure: Radiologic Technologist license issued by the Indiana Department of Health is required for all positions before starting work.

Also, a Radiologic Technologist license issued by the Ohio Department of Health is required. For positions working primarily at an Ohio location, the technologist is required to obtain an Ohio license before starting work. For positions working primarily at an Indiana location, the technologist is required to obtain an Ohio license within 6 months of starting employment.

Certifications: Certification and Registry in Radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Other: Current BLS certification.

Schedule Details

PRN/as needed. Covering vacancies in the various off-site offices.
