Location: Boston and Norwood

The Sports Medicine Department works with athletes of all ages to treat and prevent sports injuries and help them return to the activities they love. Over 45,000 athletes are seen in our clinics every year. The department provides life-changing surgeries and management of acute/chronic orthopedic issues.

The Sports Medicine Radiographer will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing and evaluating requisitions for diagnostic imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts, and determining the appropriateness of the prescribed procedure based on diagnosis and clinical signs.
  • Selecting appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify both pathological and normal anatomy.
  • Assessing patients' and parents' physical and emotional status, ability to respond to instructions, and developing a care plan tailored to the patient's specific needs.
  • Explaining the examination procedures and answering questions from patients and parents regarding the exam and radiation exposure, practicing ALARA principles.
  • Following departmental QC/Data Integrity workflows.
  • Practicing High Reliability Training.
  • Responding to the uniqueness of each patient, creating a supportive environment for patients and their families.
  • Identifying and reporting equipment malfunctions through the INeedit application.
  • Assisting in organizing and maintaining daily operations.
  • Participating in departmental and hospital meetings.
  • Completing all required documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Complying with ETU and HIPAA regulations.
  • Performing radiology procedures in a busy pediatric radiology department.
  • Ensuring quality results and communicating their relevance to other healthcare professionals.

In order to qualify, you must have the following:

  • An Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology
  • MA Radiographer license and ARRT certification
