Job summary

ACHE in Laurel, MD is seeking a PRN Radiographer under general supervision to perform routine and specialized diagnostic radiologic procedures.

Responsibilities include fluoroscopy across patient types, selecting technical factors, maintaining equipment, documenting care in EHRs, ensuring safety, and supporting performance-improvement initiatives. Requires MD state license, ARRT registration, associate degree or certificate, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certificate in radiologic technology from an accredited program.
• No prior experience required.
• ARRT registration is required.
• MD license as radiographer is required.
• Basic Life Support certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Executes basic clinical competence in general radiology including fluoroscopy, in all locations across all patient types.
• Applies knowledge of radiology principles and practices, including anatomy and physiology, radiation protection and physics, radiographic positioning and patient care skills.
• Documents accurate patient care activity in various electronic health records systems.
• Ensures a safe and appropriate work environment. Maintains supplies and inventory in area.
• Informs appropriate colleague when supplies need to be ordered from outside vendors. Documents and reports related equipment/environmental problems in accordance with policy.
• Actively participates in departmental and organizational performance improvement initiatives and efforts to improve workflows, patient experience and quality.

Primary Responsibilities

• Executes basic clinical competence in general radiology including fluoroscopy, in all locations across all patient types. Selects accurate technical factors on an individual patient basis and demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to age of the patient.
• Applies knowledge of radiology principles and practices, including anatomy and physiology, radiation protection and physics, radiographic positioning and patient care skills. Adheres to Joint Commission, State, Federal and departmental regulatory compliance standards.
• Documents accurate patient care activity in various electronic health records systems.
• Ensures a safe and appropriate work environment. Maintains supplies and inventory in area. Informs appropriate colleague when supplies need to be ordered from outside vendors. Documents and reports related equipment/environmental problems in accordance with policy.
• Actively participates in departmental and organizational performance improvement initiatives and efforts to improve workflows, patient experience and quality. Actively participates in student and employee training and educational activities.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Work Experience

Education & Experience - Required

• Associate degree, or Certificate, in radiologic technology from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education (USDE) or Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
• No Experience Required
• Registered with American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
• Licensed Radiographer - State of MD
• Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification
