Job Description

The Radiographer reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards. The primary responsibility is performing general radiographic diagnostic imaging procedures to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment, following industry, organizational, and departmental standards.

Responsibilities
  1. Review and evaluate radiographic requisitions to determine appropriate procedures.
  2. Provide quality patient care and customer service, including patient education to reduce anxiety and ensure comfort.
  3. Employ imaging systems, accessories, and positioning techniques to generate quality images while adhering to radiation safety practices.
  4. Evaluate completed images for quality and take corrective actions as needed.
  5. Produce high-quality radiographs to minimize patient radiation exposure and support quality management.
  6. Complete billing and charge documentation accurately.
  7. Report equipment issues promptly to management and vendors.
  8. Assist with clerical functions such as filing, inventory monitoring, and film management.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Certification in Radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology.
  • Active Illinois Emergency Management Administration (IEMA) license.
  • Graduation from an accredited Radiography program.
  • Associates Degree in Applied Science, Radiography, or a hospital-sponsored Certificate of Completion.
  • CPR - Basic Life Support certification through AHA.
  • 0-2 years’ experience in radiology.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Radiography at a healthcare institution.
