Qualifications

  • Basic Life Support and various ARRT certifications upon hire are mandatory.

Job description

Schedule:
PRN (as needed)
Must work at least 2 12-hour shifts per month

General Summary

Performs routine and specialized diagnostic and technical radiographic procedures at an intermediate skill level.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs radiographic examinations; obtains patient history, explains routine procedures and addresses patient concerns.
  • Able to perform more complex operating room procedures as well as fluoroscopic and overhead procedures and more complex portable exams if applicable to the location of outpatient center.
  • Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.
  • Properly processes images using digital technology; able to resolve exceptions in PACs and EHR systems and has the ability to cancel unnecessary orders upon request of providers (site specific).
  • Positions and transfers patients safely and comfortably and explains basic procedure.
  • Immobilizes patients as necessary and practices radiation safety procedures.
  • Evaluates recorded images for technical quality; consistently maintains a repeat rate under 5%.
  • Participates in and collaborates with other departments on projects to improve care and efficiency as needed.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills with capability of taking on a charge role if needed.
  • Participates in at least 1 project including but not limited to: equipment QA (monthly, quarterly testing), creating standards of work, engagement committee.
  • Becomes proficient in optional cross-trained skills (site specific) of EKGs and/or phlebotomy.

  • Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, inservice meetings, and workshops.
  • Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
  • Able to take on call responsibilities to meet the needs of the department. On call requirements are defined separately by each entity.
