Job summary

Washington State University seeks a Radiochemist to support research on chemical and isotope separations and to teach at least one undergraduate course per semester. Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related scientific/engineering field with 4 years of professional research experience.
  • PhD may substitute for up to two years of required work experience.
  • Combination of education and professional experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis.
  • Satisfactory Background Check.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen at time of hire.
  • Within 6 months of hire CPR, first aid and AED trainings.

Responsibilities

  • Support research on chemical and isotope separations.
  • Characterize chemical and nuclear processes.
  • Instruct at least one undergraduate course per semester.
  • Handle radiological materials in controlled laboratory areas.
  • Prepare, handle, complete radiometric separations and analyze potentially radioactive samples.
  • Collect, analyze and interpret research data; ensure quality control and safe practices.
