Job summary

County Of Maui seeks a Radio Technician II to perform technical work on radio transmitters, receivers, and related equipment in mobile and fixed locations. You will install, test, maintain, and troubleshoot radio systems and support emergency communications in police vehicles.

A two-year electronics technology background and at least one year of related experience are required, along with a Hawaii driver’s license. You will document FCC-compliant work and mentor junior staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Two-year electronics technology program plus one year of related experience.
• Experience with radio transmitters/receivers, RF microwave, and computer networks.
• Valid Hawaii driver’s license Type 3.

Responsibilities

• Adjusts, tests, installs, modifies, maintains, and repairs radio transmitters and receivers.
• Takes field strength measurements and performs FCC-compliant testing.
• Instructs operating personnel in proper operation of radio equipment.
• Keeps records of work performed in accordance with FCC requirements.
