Job summary

Datum Technologies Group in Atlanta, GA is seeking an RF Communications Engineer to design, implement and support complex radio networks across HF, VHF, UHF and trunk systems. The role includes hands-on work with portable/mobile gear, base stations, and integrated consoles, plus RF interference resolution and airline communications knowledge.

The engineer will handle data networks, FCC/FAA regulatory considerations, and project-management tasks, providing on-site and on-call support.

Qualifications

• Degree or certification and minimum 3 years working knowledge of Radio Communications including HF, VHF, UHF and Trunk radio systems.
• Experience with portable radios, mobiles, repeaters, and base stations.
• Knowledge of integrated radio communications consoles and RF system design.
• Experience with RF interference troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Airline communications systems (Air-to-Ground, Ground-to-Ground).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical operational support for voice, data network and radio communication systems.
• Provide engineering support for staff system wide and document service tickets and inventory.
• Install, configure, maintain, test and troubleshoot hardware and software platforms.
• Plan, install and document radio infrastructure, ensuring compatibility with enterprise standards.
• Monitor platform performance, perform root cause analysis, and implement changes with minimal business impact.
• Coordinate with internal/external technology owners and travel as required.
