Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking a System Engineer to join the upgrade team in the Greater Chicago area. The role focuses on radio networks, servers, virtualization, and project leadership, with 50% travel to customer sites.

You will work with multi-vendor networking gear, design and troubleshoot complex environments, and ensure documentation and presentations meet customer needs. This role demands strong communication and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Knowledge in radio communication systems and RF, wireless or broadband/LTE.
• Strong IP networking, design methodologies and troubleshooting (Ethernet, TCP/IP, L2/L3, MPLS).
• Experience with servers and virtualization: ESXi, Linux/KVM, Windows Server, AD, Group Policy.
• Direct customer-facing experience is highly preferred.
• Excellent communications skills for presenting to non-technical audiences.
• Willing and able to lead a project, and manage risks in a project.
• Self-motivated, collaborative, and able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Upgrade the radio network including servers, network and RF devices.
• Deliver customer presentations and brief stakeholders.
• Prepare complete system documentation and handover materials.
