Short Description

The Low Observable (LO) Labs & Ranges department is seeking a manager to lead its state-of-the-art RF measurement facilities located in Fort Worth, Texas, and Marietta, Georgia. As part of the LO Labs & Ranges organization within Signature Management, the selected candidate will lead the team responsible for operating and maintaining highly advanced radar and RF measurement facilities and equipment.

This position is based on-site in Fort Worth, Texas, with periodic travel to Marietta, Georgia. The role supports a 4/10 work schedule and may require occasional weekend support.

The selected candidate will provide leadership and engineering support across the Antenna/Electromagnetic (EMI) Measurement Labs, Compact Radar Cross Section (RCS) Range, and full-scale Radar Cross Section (RCS) test facilities. The manager will be responsible for the personnel, facilities, equipment, and resources required to safely and effectively execute test operations and meet program commitments.

Key responsibilities include developing staffing forecasts, budgets, capital plans, and test schedules; managing facility, equipment, and staffing requirements; ensuring execution against organizational and flowed-down objectives; and performing personnel and performance management functions. The selected candidate will also be responsible for the timely and effective assignment of personnel, assessing team performance and workload, and ensuring employees have the resources, direction, and support necessary to successfully execute their responsibilities.

Standard Job Description

Directs the architecting and designing of Radio Frequency systems and circuitry. Coordinates subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Manages the design and development of RF circuitry used in high frequency and microwave applications, including receivers, transmitters, antennas, and frequency synthesizers. Leads the staff responsible for hardware layout, component evaluation, prototype construction, and test. Oversees the preparation of the following: test methods and specifications; analysis and testing of RF hardware to verify performance characteristics. Provides inputs to Product Development for formal documentation and supports manufacturing during the deliverable assembly and test phase. Manages the development of RF System/Subsystem Architectures consisting of: antennas, transmitters, receivers, low noise amplifiers, high power amplifiers, RF conversion elements and transmission line equipment. Coordinates link analysis and optimization, including effects of propagation medium and possible interference sources. Manages the development and allocation of RF system and subsystem functional and performance requirements. Oversees the identification and tracking of RF technical performance measurements (TPMs). Monitors RF system/subsystem/component trade studies and CAIV analysis. Supports Life Cycle Costs, reliability, availability, and maintainability analysis.

Basic Qualifications
  • Proven leadership experience in an engineering, technical, test, or similar operational environment
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience with workforce planning, workload management, and/or resource prioritization
  • Experience managing facilities, equipment, and/or technical infrastructure
  • Experience managing budgets, projects, and/or capital resources
  • Experience coordinating across multiple organizations and stakeholders to meet cost, schedule, and/or technical objectives

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $148300.00 - $275500.00

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
