Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited program in Radiation Therapy Technology and ARRT registration.
• Current and valid license from the Rhode Island Department of Health to practice.
• Analytical ability to assist in treatment planning and dose interpretation.
• Numerical ability to perform dose calculations.
• Technical ability to operate treatment equipment.
• Ability to position patients for treatment.
• Experience with aging processes and cultural patterns in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Operate treatment machines and ensure accurate administration of treatments.
• Assist physician and physicist with treatment planning and dose calculations.
• Take portal films, measurements, contours and photographs of treatment fields.
• Instruct and guide new staff in treatment procedures and patient positioning.
• Maintain detailed patient records including appointments, treatments and settings.
• Adhere to radiation safety rules and monitor equipment and room safety.
