Job summary

Wellstar Health System seeks a Staff Radiation Therapist for the Radiation Oncology Department at Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center. The role involves applying ionizing radiation per prescription, operating radiation equipment, and ensuring safety measures while performing complex procedures.

The position requires ARRT-T certification, BLS, and a graduate Radiation Therapy program, with a preference for 2+ years of experience and willingness to participate in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• Graduate Radiation Therapy program.
• ARRT-T - ARRT Radiation Therapy certification.
• BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor.
• Minimum 2 years Experience in Radiation Therapy Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in Quality Control monitoring.
• Delivers consistent precise therapy to a designated treatment area.
• Demonstrates skill in patient assessment, performing procedures and giving specialty care to patients, considering the age of the patient and appropriately adopts care for age (adolescent, adult and geriatrics).
• Documents appropriately in Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
• Demonstrates a willingness to perform additional tasks and gives assistance when necessary to others.
• Wears radiation safety badges at all times.
• Practices universal precautions.
• Participates in on-call rotation.
• Is active as a student clinical instructor with both RTT and RTR students. Will evaluate and give feedback to both students and Clinical Advisor.
