Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Radiologic Therapy Technology program with ARRT certificate.

Responsibilities

• Check prescriptions, diagnoses, electronic charts and patient identifications.
• Explain procedures to patient and advise patient regarding reactions to treatment.
• Prepare room and equipment for each patient according to prescription.
• Transfer patients safely to treatment couch with care for catheters/IVs.
• Perform imaging as prescribed and document according to office policy; follow supervision requirements.
• Deliver prescribed radiation therapy under supervision.
• Maintain visual and audio communication with patient during treatment.
• Maintain patient markings and setup documentation.
• Monitor for adverse reactions and report to nursing or oncologist.
• Follow ALARA safety guidelines at all times.
• Prepare immobilization devices and perform simulations and planning scans with documentation.
• Assist in dosimetry as needed and double-check monitor units.
• Attend chart rounds and participate in accreditation and special projects.
• Maintain compliance with governmental and regulatory requirements.
