Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a Radiation Therapist to ensure precise delivery of prescribed radiation doses for cancer treatment. You will position patients per setup instructions and assist physicians with procedures and equipment limitations.

The role requires ARRT licensure or registry eligible with licensure within 6 months, CPR certification, and experience with linear accelerators and simulators. Strong communication and patient safety are essential, with occasional weekend scheduling.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ARRT approved School of Radiation Therapy Technology.
• Knowledge of a variety of treatment modalities.
• Experience with linear accelerators and simulators.

Responsibilities

• Deliver prescribed radiation dose accurately.
• Position patients and ensure proper immobilization for accurate treatment.
• Assist physicians and discuss technical limitations of equipment.
• Monitor patient symptoms and withhold treatment as needed; consult physicians.
• Schedule outpatient appointments; assist with brachytherapy and stereotactic radiosurgery.
• Perform CT simulation when assigned; supervise students in clinical program.
