Job summary

Quincy Medical Group is seeking a Radiation Therapist to deliver prescribed radiation treatments to cancer patients and others needing radiation therapy. You will work closely with Radiation Oncologists, physicists, dosimetrists, and nurses to provide compassionate, patient-centered care while ensuring safe treatment delivery.

Based in Quincy, IL, the role supports a collaborative oncology team focused on high-quality care and excellent patient experiences.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program required.
  • ARRT in Radiation Therapy (ARRT(T)) required.
  • Current state licensure, if applicable, required.
  • Current CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Administer radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist.
  • Accurately position patients and operate radiation therapy equipment to ensure precise treatment delivery.
  • Review treatment plans and verify treatment parameters prior to administration.
  • Monitor patients during treatment and respond appropriately to patient needs and concerns.
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment procedures, expectations, and side effect management.
  • Maintain accurate treatment records and documentation within the electronic medical record and radiation oncology systems.
  • Collaborate with physicians, physicists, dosimetrists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support quality patient care.
  • Perform quality assurance checks and follow established safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain treatment equipment and report operational concerns as appropriate.
  • Provide compassionate support to patients throughout their treatment experience.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support radiation oncology operations.

About the Role

As a Radiation Therapist at Quincy Medical Group, you will play a vital role in delivering radiation treatments to patients with cancer and other conditions requiring radiation therapy. Working closely with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, dosimetrists, nurses, and other members of the oncology team, you will provide compassionate, patient-centered care while ensuring the safe and accurate delivery of prescribed treatments. Schedule Hours may vary based on patient volume and departmental needs. Position based in Quincy, Illinois. Collaborative oncology environment focused on delivering high-quality cancer care and exceptional patient experiences.

Primary Responsibilities

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program required.
  • Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy [ARRT(T)] required.
  • Current state licensure, if applicable, required.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Previous radiation therapy experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of radiation therapy principles, patient positioning, treatment delivery, and safety practices.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.
  • Commitment to providing safe, high-quality, compassionate patient care.

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $35.17 - $52.76 per hour, with actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through bonuses and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
