Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center is seeking a Radiation Therapist to join the Cancer Center Radiation Oncology team in South Florida. This role performs tumor localization, delivers prescribed ionizing radiation, and ensures patient safety during treatment within a busy, patient-centered environment.

The ideal candidate holds ARRT registration with Florida licensure, a BS or AS in radiologic technology, and 2–5 years of healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• ARRT Registered Required. FL State Lic
• BS or AS grad from accredited RT School
• 2 - 5 years experience in healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs technical tasks associated with the localization of tumors.
• Review dosage calculations for accuracy prior to radiation treatments; delivers prescribed dosage of ionizing radiation to patients undergoing therapy.
• Observes and reports changes in patient\'s condition to Lead Radiation Therapist.
• Records treatment administered on patient\'s chart.
• Prepares examination room; explain procedures and assist patients in preparing for examination or treatment.
• Reviews set-up of equipment and patient positioning.
• Assists other radiation therapist in planning treatment involving the use of dosimetry procedures and isodosing curves. (Not applicable)
• Monitors adherence to radiation safety factors on the unit.
• Maintain equipment in safe and satisfactory working condition; stock and replenish supplies as required.
