Radiation Therapist - ONC (Radiation Oncology) - CASUAL

Purpose: UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is internationally recognized for leadership in cancer prevention, detection, diagnosis, and treatment. It is the region's only comprehensive cancer center designated by the National Cancer Institute.

As a leading institution in western Pennsylvania for cancer care, research, and education, UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is well-positioned to contribute globally to reducing the burden of cancer. We are hiring a Casual Radiation Therapist to support the Erie Radiation Oncology Network in Erie, PA. This position involves working a casual, as-needed daylight schedule Monday through Friday.

Under the direction of a radiation oncologist, the therapist delivers radiation treatments, obtains localization images, assists with contrast agents, performs measurements for treatment calculations, and documents data during procedures. The role includes opportunities for career growth within our Radiation Therapy ladder.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in clinical operations, supervising students, and maintaining patient safety and education.
  • Managing regulatory compliance, radiation safety, and departmental readiness.
  • Performing treatment procedures, simulations, and quality assurance activities.
  • Participating in continuing education to maintain ARRT certification.
  • Managing fiscal responsibilities and resource utilization.
  • Collaborating on quality improvement initiatives.

Minimum requirements:

  • Completion of a JRCERT-accredited radiation therapy program.
  • ARRT registration or eligibility, with ongoing CEU compliance.
  • CPR certification within 30 days of employment.

Licensure and certifications required: ARRT registration, BLS or CPR, and background checks (Act 34).
