Purpose:

Our Department of Radiation Oncology provides comprehensive, individualized care using advanced imaging technology and radiation systems. Our team of board-certified radiation oncologists and medical physicists collaborates with multidisciplinary specialists to ensure safe and effective treatments based on the latest evidence. Our program is accredited by the American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO), and Hillman is the largest ACRO-accredited system in the nation.

We are hiring a Radiation Therapist for the Palmer network Radiation Oncology office in Greensburg, PA. This full-time position offers a $15,000 sign-on bonus and a Monday through Friday daytime schedule.

Under the supervision of a radiation oncologist, the Radiation Therapist delivers prescribed radiation treatments, obtains localization images, assists with contrast agent administration, performs measurements for treatment calculations, and documents procedures and data accurately.

Responsibilities:

• Clinical Operations: Assists in clinical rotations, evaluates student performance, communicates treatment procedures, observes patient reactions, reinforces patient education, maintains a safe treatment environment, provides on-call coverage, and supports other locations as needed.
• Regulatory Affairs Management: Ensures compliance with safety standards, maintains readiness for inspections, wears monitoring badges, remains HIPAA compliant, completes competencies, and reports equipment issues.
• Clinical Procedures: Performs treatments, simulations, immobilization, radiosurgery, brachytherapy, and localization images, documents data, ensures treatment quality, explains procedures to patients, and assists with contrast agent administration.
• Continuing Education: Participates in required training to maintain ARRT Certification and adheres to system-wide competencies.
• Fiscal Responsibilities: Handles charge capture accurately, manages supplies and expenses effectively.
• Quality Assurance: Conducts daily QA, reports deviations, participates in quality improvement programs, and collaborates to maintain high standards.
