Job summary

Sentara Healthcare Inc in Virginia Beach, VA, is seeking an experienced Radiation Therapist II for a PRN, float position to support multiple Sentara facilities in Hampton Roads, including Princess Anne Hospital and Sentara Virginia Beach General.

You will deliver external beam radiotherapy and brachytherapy, perform simulations, and coordinate with physicians and care teams while maintaining patient records and ensuring safety protocols.

Qualifications

• 3 years Radiation Therapy experience REQUIRED.
• ARRT Certification REQUIRED.
• Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology REQUIRED.

Responsibilities

• Deliver external beam radiotherapy (3D, IMRT, SRS/SBRT).
• Deliver brachytherapy treatment.
• Perform patient simulations and prepare immobilization, treatment, and protection devices.
• Review patient records for accuracy.
• Act as liaison with physician and supportive care personnel.
• Maintain patient records, reports, and files.

Job description

Sentara is hiring an experienced Radiation Therapist II at Princess Anne Hospital, in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Shift: PRN, FLOAT

This position will provide support to our Hampton Roads Hospitals to include:

• Sentara Princess Anne Hospital

• SentaraVirginia Beach General

• Sentara Brock Cancer Center

• Sentara Norfolk General Hospital

• Sentara Obici Hospital

• Sentara Careplex Hospital

• Sentara Albemarle Medical Center

Overview

Provide radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist according to established practices and standards. Duties may include but are not limited to:

• Deliver external beam radiotherapy to include (3D, IMRT, SRS/SBRT)
• Deliver brachytherapy treatment
• Perform patient simulations; preparing equipment, such as immobilization, treatment, and protection devices
• Reviewing patient records for accuracy
• Acting as liaison with physician and supportive care personnel
• Maintaining patient records, reports, and files

Minimum of 3 years of experience and must meet 4 of the following criteria and have passed associated competencies to move from Radiation Therapist I:

• Criteria: Competencies/Requirement
• Pediatric Center: Age based competencies EBRT/Sim
• Clinical Coordinator-RTT Students: Preceptor/clinical coord Comp
• SRS/SBRT: General SRS/SBRT Comps
• Simulation Tech: General Sim Comp, IV Start Comp
• Treatment Competencies: General EBRT Comp
• Advanced Imaging: Identify/Vision RT/iCBCT/Gated CBCT/4D CBCT
• Brachy Therapist: General Brachy Comp
• Second Licensure (CT, MRI, R): Proof of second licensure

Completion of an approved certification program prior to 2016 in lieu of Associates degree will also be considered.
