Job summary

Sentara Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking an experienced Radiation Therapist II to join our oncology team. You will deliver external beam radiotherapy (3D, IMRT, SRS/SBRT) and brachytherapy, perform simulations, and support care teams across multiple Sentara facilities.

The role requires at least 3 years of Radiation Therapy experience, ARRT certification, and an Associate degree in Radiologic Technology, with eligibility for licensure in Virginia.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of Radiation Therapy experience required.
• Must meet multiple competencies as listed for advancement from Radiation Therapist I.
• Second licensure or additional certifications may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Deliver external beam radiotherapy including 3D, IMRT, SRS/SBRT.
• Deliver brachytherapy treatment.
• Perform patient simulations and prepare immobilization, treatment and protection devices.
• Review patient records for accuracy.
• Liaise with physician and supportive care staff.
• Maintain patient records and reports.

Responsibilities

• Deliver external beam radiotherapy to include (3D, IMRT, SRS/SBRT)
• Deliver brachytherapy treatment
• Perform patient simulations; preparing equipment, such as immobilization, treatment, and protection devices
• Reviewing patient records for accuracy
• Acting as liaison with physician and supportive care personnel
• Maintaining patient records, reports, and files

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of experience and must meet 4 of the following criteria and have passed associated competencies to move from Radiation Therapist I:

• Pediatric Center: Age based competencies EBRT/Sim
• Clinical Coordinator-RTT Students: Preceptor/clinical coord Comp
• SRS/SBRT: General SRS/SBRT Comps
• Simulation Tech: General Sim Comp, IV Start Comp
• Treatment Competencies: General EBRT Comp
• Advanced Imaging: Identify/Vision RT/iCBCT/Gated CBCT/4D CBCT
• Brachy Therapist: General Brachy Comp
• Second Licensure (CT, MRI, R): Proof of second licensure
• Completion of an approved certification program prior to 2016 in lieu of Associates degree will also be considered.

Compensation

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $44.05 - $65.34 hourly.

Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
