Overview

Texas Oncology is looking for a Radiation Therapist to join our team! This position will work and support our TXO Northeast San Antonio, Texas location.

Responsibilities

What does the Radiation Therapist do?

The Radiation Therapist, under direct supervision, administers radiation treatments to patients. Key responsibilities include precise positioning of radiation beams, accurate delivery of prescribed doses, and adherence to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

  • Deliver and record radiation treatments accurately under the supervision of a radiation oncologist and chief radiation therapist.
  • Enter and maintain patient treatment parameters in electronic medical records; participate in training new therapists and students.
  • Maintain patient appointment schedules and submit correct billing information.
  • Cut blocks and make custom molds accurately.
  • Perform simple mu calculations and interpret computerized treatment plans.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Graduation from an accredited radiation therapy technology program.
  • ARRT certification and a valid state license for radiation therapy.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical demands include sitting, using hands, standing, walking, reaching, and occasionally lifting up to 30 pounds. Vision and hearing should be corrected to normal ranges.
