Texas Oncology is looking for a Radiation Therapist to join our team! This position will work and support our TXO S. Austin Cancer Center, Austin, TX.

Responsibilities
What does the Radiation Therapist do?

The Radiation Therapist, under direct supervision, administers radiation therapy treatments to patients. Precision in positioning the radiation beam and delivering the prescribed dose are critical. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Accurately delivers and records radiation therapy treatments under the supervision of a radiation oncologist and chief radiation therapist.
  • Enters and maintains patient treatment parameters in electronic medical records. Participates in clinical instruction of new therapists and students.
  • Assists in maintaining patient appointment schedules and submitting correct billing information.
  • Cuts blocks accurately, when applicable.
  • Makes custom molds accurately.
  • Performs simple MU calculations accurately.
  • Interprets computerized treatment plans correctly.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy technology program.
  • ARRT certification required, along with a valid state license for radiation therapy.
Physical Demands

The physical demands include sitting, using hands for various tasks, standing, walking, reaching, and occasionally lifting up to 30 pounds. Vision and hearing should be corrected to normal ranges.
