Job summary

Advocate Health in Winston-Salem, NC, is seeking a Radiation Therapy Technologist for day shifts with occasional late shifts. The role involves delivering and recording RT treatments under a Radiation Oncologist, reviewing imaging for patient setup, and performing QA on equipment.

Required ARRT eligibility, Associate's Degree in Radiation Therapy, and CPR-BLS. Strong teamwork and accurate documentation in EMR are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Radiation Therapy is required.
• ARRT or Deemed Registry Eligible and able to sit for the Certification Exam.
• Valid CPR Certification – BLS.

Responsibilities

• Delivers and records radiation therapy treatments under the direction of a Radiation Oncologist.
• Reviews images and port films with the medical team for patient setup, device selection, and verification.
• Performs daily quality assurance (QA) on equipment and troubleshoots malfunctions.
• Enters patient treatment parameters into electronic medical records.
• Maintains patient appointment schedules and ensures proper charge capture for treatments.
• Performs CT simulation in preparation for patient treatment; cuts blocks, makes immobilization, and performs MU calculations when needed.
• Performs patient positioning and transporting duties with proper technique.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate care and understanding of growth and development for patients.
• Adapts to age-related needs as described in department standards.
