General Summary

Under general supervision, the Radiation Therapist:

  • Administers radiation treatments to patients, as prescribed by the physician, utilizing specialized equipment including linear accelerators and High Dose Rate (HDR) systems.
Education/Experience Required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Certifications/Licenses Required
  • A.R.R.T. Radiation Therapy Technology Certification or registry eligible.
Working Conditions
  • Normal office environment with minimal exposure to noise, dust, or extreme temperatures.
  • Lifting of patients, moving & pushing wheelchairs/stretchers, and lifting equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Potential exposure to radiation; safety procedures are in place to minimize risk.
  • Frequent interaction with emotionally distressed and critically ill patients.
