Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems is seeking a Radiation Therapist to apply ionizing radiation to patients under the Radiation Oncologist's prescription and general supervision. The role includes educating patients and families, preparing patients for treatment, and participating in patient orientation and education.

Required is ARRT RTT registration or registry eligibility, with 12 hours of CE annually; graduation from an AMA-accredited Radiation Therapy Technology program; and

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA accredited School of Radiation Therapy Technology.
• Current ARRT RTT registration or registry eligible; 12 hours CE annually.
• One year of prior work experience as a Radiation Therapy Technologist is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply ionizing radiation to patients as prescribed and under the supervision of the Radiation Oncologist.
• Educate, prepare and reassure patients and families; reinforce physicians' advice on treatment reactions and post-treatment care.
• Participate in orientation and education of patients.
