Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital in Vero Beach, FL, is seeking a Radiation Therapist. This PRN role supports the Ancillary Cancer Center, delivering prescribed radiation therapy and participating in a fast-paced, technology-driven care team.

The position requires ARRT certification, CAHEA-approved education, state licensure, and BLS. You will work with advanced equipment and EMR systems to support cancer patients across their treatment journey.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAHEA approved School of Radiation Therapy technology or registry eligible.
• Board certified Registered Radiation Therapist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), R.T.(R)(T)(ARRT) in good standing
• Current state licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for healthcare providers through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• Experience with Radiation Oncology and electronic medical records

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic and patient care services to deliver radiation therapy as prescribed by a physician.
• Determine and deliver appropriate patient treatment plans in collaboration with physician and dosimetrist.
• Monitor and document patient’s condition, report any adverse reactions.
• Assess and educate patients according to specific department protocols.
• Position patients and select anatomic/technical parameters accurately.
• Check and adjust necessary equipment, including linear accelerator.

A caregiver in this position worksPRN (as needed) variable shifts.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform duties while walking, standing, stooping, reaching and lifting.
• Ability to lift materials weighing up to 35 lbs. Ability to push/pull over 100 lbs. Dexterity sufficient to perform computer functions.
• Safe Operating Procedure for x-ray generating equipment.
• Ability to work the hours of operation - flexible. Ability to take “call” on weekdays and weekends based on a rotational schedule.
• Ability to float to other CCHS facilities when needed.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
