Job summary

Baptist Health Lexington is seeking a Radiation Therapist to join our full-time daytime team. The role involves on-call duties, weekends, and holidays as needed, delivering therapeutic radiation per physician orders and maintaining equipment and records.

You will educate patients and coordinate scheduling while providing compassionate care within our oncology services. Ideal candidates hold an Associate degree and ARRT Radiation Therapy certification, with state operator certification and BLS.

Qualifications

• Must be on call including weekends and holidays; flexible to work above standard hours.
• Utilizes radiation therapy equipment to deliver prescribed doses.
• Maintains treatment equipment and records; monitors treatment area.

Responsibilities

• Delivers a planned course of radiotherapy safely and accurately.
• Operates Linacs and CT simulator for patient treatments.
• Provides patient education, scheduling, and excellent customer relations.
• Documents and captures charges for procedures.
• Keeps treatment area clean and equipment maintained.
• Participates in quality assurance and charting as required.

$15,000 sign on bonus for qualified individuals

Description

• Must be able to be on call, including weekends and holidays, and flexible to work above standard hours to meet staffing needs.
• Utilizes ionizing-radiation producing equipment to administer therapeutic doses of radiation as prescribed by the physician for each patient undergoing a prescribed course of radiotherapy
• Maintains treatment equipment and records, monitoring treatment area, and other duties as needed
• Accurately delivers a planned course of radiotherapy by administering treatment in a safe manner
• Demonstrates how to use Linacs and CT simulator and perform patient treatments
• Provides patient education, scheduling and excellent customer relations
• Correctly documents and captures charges for procedures

Requirements

• Associate degree
• New graduates will be acceptable for initial hire with the understanding that the individual must pass boards within 3 months of hire
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiation Therapy
• State Radiation Operator Certification
• Basic Life Support
• Radiation Oncology preferred
