Job summary

A midsized healthcare facility in Iowa is seeking a Radiation Therapist to assist with patient care in radiation therapy. The successful candidate will have a background in oncology and experience delivering treatment, as well as strong communication and customer service skills. A $15,000 sign-on bonus is being offered, alongside competitive annual compensation. This position requires an ARRT registration and an Iowa Permit to Practice Radiation Therapy.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from a Radiation Therapy Program required.
  • ARRT registration and current Iowa Permit to Practice required.
  • 2 years experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Radiation Oncologist in simulation process.
  • Deliver prescribed radiation courses and monitor patient progress.
  • Maintain effective communication with team and patients.

Job description

Our client, a midsized healthcare facility located in Iowa, about 1 ½ hours from Des Moines, has a need for a Radiation Therapist to join their team.

**They are offering a $15,000 sign on bonus!**

The Radiation Therapist works under the supervision of the Chief Radiation Therapist/Manager and is responsible for assisting the Radiation Oncologist in simulation process, delivering prescribed course of radiation to the patients and monitoring patients for progress and side affects.

QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledgeable in the areas of anatomy, physiology, clinical oncology , radiobiology, radiation physics, and radiation safety
  • Demonstrate knowledge of radiotherapy treatment implementation to include basic dosimetry and isodose plan knowledge
  • Demonstrate knowledge of CT simulation process
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills and radiation oncology software programs
  • Basic customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

EDUCATION

  • Graduate of a Radiation Therapy Program

EXPERIENCE

  • Two years previous experience as a radiation therapist preferred

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE

  • ARRT registered
  • Maintain a current Iowa Permit to Practice Radiation Therapy, 24 hours continuing education in a 2-year period
  • Current BCLS certification
