Radiation Therapist Summary

We are a superficial radiotherapy (SRT) provider operating in the Dermatology arena, focusing on quality and customer service. Founded in 2016, we aim to become the largest provider of SRT for Dermatologists in the U.S., striving to be the go-to in all aspects of SRT solutions for patients.

Radiation Therapist Responsibilities

1. Administer prescribed doses of radiation to specific body parts, using radiation therapy equipment according to established practices and standards.
2. Position patients accurately for treatment as per prescription.
3. Enter data into computer systems, set controls, and regulate dosage.
4. Follow radiation protection principles for patient, self, and others.
5. Maintain records, reports, and files, including radiation dosages, equipment settings, and patient reactions.
6. Review prescriptions, diagnosis, patient charts, and identification.
7. Conduct treatment sessions independently, following the treatment plan and under physician guidance.
8. Check equipment operation and safety.
9. Monitor and reassure patients during treatment, report adverse reactions.
10. Assess side effects like skin irritation and hair loss.
11. Educate and prepare patients and families, providing support and information.
12. Calculate treatment dosages delivered during sessions.
13. Prepare and construct immobilization and protection devices.
14. Photograph treated areas.
15. Assist in preparing treatment plans with physicians and physicists.
16. Supervise and train junior staff or students.
17. Coordinate with physicists and care staff.
18. Assist with follow-up care plans.

Required Licenses/Certifications

• Graduate of an accredited program.
• ARRT Board Certification in Radiation Therapy, R.T.(T), or eligible within 3 months.
• State licensure, if applicable.
