Qualifications

Job Summary:

The Radiation Therapist in Radiology/Cardiology is responsible for delivering precise radiation treatments to patients, ensuring safety and accuracy in accordance with prescribed protocols. This role involves working collaboratively with medical professionals to provide high-quality patient care, operating radiation therapy equipment, and maintaining detailed patient records. The position requires at least one year of experience or acceptance of first-time practitioners with appropriate certifications.

Responsibilities:

• Administer radiation therapy treatments to patients as prescribed by physicians.
• Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment safely and effectively.
• Monitor patient responses and document treatment details accurately.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including radiologists and cardiologists to optimize patient care.
• Follow all safety protocols and regulatory guidelines related to radiation therapy.
• May be required to float between different units as needed.
• Utilize Epic for patient charting and documentation.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiation Therapy.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience, or entry-level candidates accepted.
• Ability to operate radiation therapy equipment and follow safety procedures.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in acute care hospital settings.
• Familiarity with Epic electronic medical records system.
• Flexibility to accommodate block scheduling as per manager discretion.

Special Considerations:

• May be required to float between units within Radiology and Cardiology departments.
• Return to Office (RTO) policies must be included at time of submission.
• Facility allows one call-off per two-week pay period.
• Scrub color for Radiology is black.
• Free parking available on the first day; assigned parking provided during orientation.

Scheduling:

• Shift scheduling and block schedules are determined at manager's discretion.
• Open to accommodating block schedules.
