Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Radiation Therapist to provide daily cancer patient care, interpret and deliver radiation treatments, and perform simulations for student instruction. The role may involve IORT, brachy procedures, and proton/photon practices, with potential on-call and regional site coverage.

Requirements include an associate's degree, JRCERT accreditation, ARRT certification, and BLS. This nonexempt, part-time position operates Monday–Friday with a 64-hour pay period at Minnesota

Qualifications

• The Radiation Therapist role requires at least an associate's degree and completion of a JRCERT-accredited program in Radiation Therapy.
• Current ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy is required at hire or within 2 months.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 2 months of start date.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care of cancer patients and deliver radiation treatments accurately.
• Perform simulations and provide clinical instruction for radiation therapy students.
• May cover IORT, Brachy procedures, Proton/Photon practice, on-call and scheduling.
• Overtime and shift work may be required; coverage at Rochester or regional sites as needed.

Responsibilities

To provide daily care of cancer patients, including accurate interpretation and delivery of radiation treatments. To perform simulations and provide clinical instruction for radiation therapy students. In addition, Radiation Therapist may be required to cover IORT, Brachy Procedures, Proton Practice, Photon Practice, On-call and Treatment Scheduling. Radiation Therapists are an active member of the care team and attend meetings or communicate with team members. These varying positions may require mandatory overtime and shift work. Radiation Therapists may be required to cover any Rochester or regional practice site as needed.

Qualifications

The Radiation Therapist job requires at minimum associate's degree and successful completion of a JRCERT accredited program in Radiation Therapy. Previous experience as an R.T.T. including Photon and Proton treatments, daily imaging, and simulation procedures would be beneficial however, not required. Current ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy required at time of hire or within 2 months of start date. Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 2 months of start date.
