Job summary

Astranis Space Technologies Corp. is seeking an engineer to design fault-tolerant electrical systems for operation in a radiation environment. You will simulate radiation effects on PCBA designs and coordinate testing campaigns with the team.

This role emphasizes hands-on hardware development, rapid iteration, and collaboration with a growing spacecraft team. US citizenship or permanent residency is required, with eligibility for security clearances as projects advance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in nuclear/ electrical engineering, physics, or equivalent technical field.
  • Hands-on hardware development in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience with electrical design.
  • Experience designing and testing for radiation effects.
  • Experience testing analog and digital circuits.
  • Experience with fault-tolerant high-reliability systems.
  • US Citizenship or Green Card.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design of fault-tolerant electrical systems for operation in a radiation environment.
  • Simulate and model the GTO and GEO radiation environments on PCBA designs.
  • Coordinate radiation testing campaigns to upscreen components.
  • Develop fault-tolerant systems & operations into the spacecraft by working closely with the rest of the team.
  • Support other electrical design, bring-up, and test activities.
  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring additional teammates to our rapidly-growing team.

Role
  • Support the design of fault tolerant electrical systems for operating in a radiation environment
  • Simulate and model the GTO and GEO radiation environments on PCBA designs
  • Coordinate and run radiation testing campaigns to upscreen components
  • Develop fault‑tolerant systems & operations into the spacecraft by working closely with the rest of the team
  • Support other electrical design, bring‑up, and test activities
  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring additional teammates to our rapidly‑growing team
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in nuclear engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or an equivalent technical field
  • A passion for hardware development, including working in a fast‑paced environment and hands‑on design and development
  • Experience with electrical design
  • Experience designing and testing for radiation effects
  • Experience in testing analog and digital circuits
  • Experience with fault‑tolerant high reliability systems
  • US Citizenship or Green Card
Bonus
  • Experience developing electrical designs in space or other high‑radiation environments
  • Experience with the Geostationary radiation environment (TID, SEE, DDD)
  • Experience running tests at radiation labs
  • Experience with designing dosimeter circuits
  • ECAD + MCAD Experience (Altium, Solidworks)

Base Salary: $120,000 – $145,000 USD

Eligibility
