Job description

Industrial Nuclear Co. is hiring an entry-level Radiation Technician to join our La Porte, TX facility. This is a hands-on, ground-floor position, no prior experience with radioactive source materials or industrial radiography is required. You will start by supporting our experienced technicians with the assembly, inspection, routine preventative maintenance, and repair of source exposure devices, containers, and related accessories. Through structured in house training, you will progressively take on more responsibility. We are looking for someone who is mechanically inclined, safety-minded, detail-oriented, and genuinely interested in building a long-term career in a highly regulated technical field.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain a high level of safety and security in accordance with company policies and all applicable regulatory requirements
  • Follow detailed written instructions, processes, and procedures exactly as documented
  • Learn to perform basic troubleshooting under the guidance of senior technicians
  • Accurately complete and maintain detailed maintenance, inspection, and inventory records
  • Proficiently use the hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment required by the job function
  • Report any quality, process, equipment, or material problems to your supervisor promptly
  • Adhere to safety, quality, inventory, and production guidelines
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and orderly work area
  • Participate in all required radiation safety, security, and regulatory training
Training Provided

This position includes comprehensive paid in-house training. You will be trained in radiation safety fundamentals, personnel dosimetry and monitoring, DOT and regulatory requirements for radioactive material handling, source exposure device assembly and maintenance, and company quality procedures. Motivated technicians have a clear path to advancement into senior technician and specialized technical roles.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, and work with fractions and decimals)
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written procedures and checklists in English (bilingual a plus)
  • Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated commitment to following procedures exactly
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills; ability to work effectively with a diverse group of employees and customers at all levels of the organization
  • Willingness to learn and accept coaching and direction
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to lift 65 pounds from floor to chest-high shelving
  • Ability to tolerate postural changes including sitting, reaching, climbing, standing, walking, bending, and intermittent lifting
  • Clean DMV record
  • Must pass an FBI background check
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
Preferred but Not Required
  • TWIC card (or eligibility to obtain one)
  • Prior experience in manufacturing, assembly, machine shop, automotive, military, or another hands-on technical environment
  • Familiarity with basic quality or inventory systems
