Southern Nuclear is seeking a Radiation Protection Supervisor to lead a team of Radiation Protection Technicians and provide oversight of radiological work activities at the Hatch 1 facility in Baxley, Georgia.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Minimum of 2 years of nuclear power plant experience, with 6 months of participation in the radiation protection section activities at a nuclear power plant.
• Knowledge of plant procedures and regulations
• Knowledge of plant systems and processes
• Knowledge of the work management process
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain priorities
• Effective at building and sustaining working relationships across disciplines
• Background screening and fitness for duty requirements
• May be required to obtain security clearance depending on position/access requirements

Responsibilities

• Focus on safety and wellness to ensure employees follow safe work practices.
• Effectively lead the radiation protection technicians by developing clear goals, accountabilities, performance measures and developmental plans; hold employees accountable for performance.
• Engaged in the work management process by participating in the T week planning and critique process and providing direct oversight of field activities.
• Spend regular time in the field with employees providing oversight and direction, observing behaviors, developing trust, and fostering relationships that promote an engaged workforce.
• Strive to improve the processes within the radiation protection department that drive continuous improvement.
