Qualifications

• Masters degree in physics, biophysics or medical physics with specialization in radiation physics.
• PhD preferred.
• 1+ year experience in therapeutic radiation therapy

Responsibilities

• Creates customized treatment plans using CT imaging and IMRT to deliver the prescribed dose.
• Correlates simulation radiographs with CT data to target tumor locations.
• Assists in shielding design to minimize dose to non-target tissues.
• Calculates beam measurements and numbers per treatment plan.
• Collaborates with radiation therapists in setup and immobilization.
• Monitors treatment and records for quality assurance.
• Participates in weekly chart rounds for plan review.
• Teaches dosimetry and treatment planning to residents.
• Provides information for protocol patients to QARC.
• Performs other related duties.
