Job summary

The Lt. Col. Luke Weathers - Jr. - VAMC is recruiting a Section Chief of Radiation Oncology Physician to provide clinical leadership and administrative oversight for the Radiation-Oncology Section in Memphis.

The role combines 70% clinical duties with 30% administrative responsibilities to meet care and compliance standards. Qualified applicants will possess MD/DO, an unrestricted U.S. medical license, and board eligibility.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for VA appointment.
• MD or DO in allopathic/osteopathic medicine.
• Current full and unrestricted medical license in the United States.
• Completed residency in radiology/related core specialty with eligibility for board certification.
• If applicable, foreign training with verified independent practice in the U.S.
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative, clinical, and program leadership for Radiation-Oncology Section.
• Oversee delivery of health care by Radiation-Oncology staff.
• Participate in clinical teaching and research activities as assigned.
• Ensure compliance with Federal and State laws and VA directives.
• Lead quality assurance, safety, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with education programs and affiliated schools.
• Engage in budget planning, resource management, and strategic planning.
• Support radiation oncology policy development and service line goals.
