OhioHealth is seeking a Manager of Radiation Oncology Medical Physics to oversee all physics activities in the region. The role focuses on leadership, quality assurance, and collaboration with oncology leadership to maintain high standards of care.

Responsibilities include supervising treatment planning and QA, ensuring regulatory compliance, and guiding strategic initiatives with physicians. A Master’s degree and ABR certification are required, with a minimum of five years in medical physics

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a physical, engineering or biological science plus five years of related medical physics experience.
• ABR Certification in Medical Physics is required.
• Experience in radiation oncology operations, quality assurance and regulatory compliance is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee treatment planning, dose calculations, QA testing, calibrations and imaging/diagnostic devices.
• Monitor regional QA activities to ensure compliance with regulatory rules across external beam, brachytherapy and stereotactic programs.
• Lead strategic initiatives and assist with developing a regional strategic plan for Radiation Oncology.
• Maintain current accreditations (ACR, ACOS, NAPBC, JCAHO-DCS) and ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
• Collaborate with Medical Director and Radiation Oncologists to align goals, metrics and new technology.

Job Description Summary: The Manager Radiation Oncology Medical Physics is responsible for the overall operations of all radiation oncology medical physics activities in the region. This person is charged with maintaining all four quadrants of the balanced scorecard as well as developing and maintaining positive relationships with oncology leadership and key physicians at each care site. Responsibilities And Duties: 1. 50% Perform as a Board Certified Medical Physicist Job Code: 3888 which includes the supervision of treatment planning, dose calculations, quality assurance testing, calibrations, and treatment device fabrications for external beam therapy, brachytherapy procedures and imaging and/or diagnostic machines so patients receive accurate radiation doses and treatments. 2.20% Oversees and monitors the technical aspects of quality assurance activities in radiation oncology across the region to ensure timely completion and compliance with regulatory rules. This includes, but is not limited to, the external beam, brachytherapy and stereotactic radiosurgery programs. This will include patient specific QA as well as periodic equipment testing i.e., daily, monthly, annual, and commissioning g . 3. 10% : Strategic initiatives Responsible to assist with the development of an overall strategic plan for Radiation Oncology at all care sites by working with executive leadership, physicians, leadership team and associates to recognize opportunities for growth. Responsible to implement/operationalize approved projects and initiatives. Maintains metrics to ensure success as anticipated. 4. 10% : Accreditation/Regulatory Responsible for maintaining current accreditations such as ACR, ACOS, NAPBC, JCAHO-DCS and others as deemed appropriate. Ensures adherence/compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations / quality guidelines. 5. 10% : Physician Relationships Works collaboratively with Medical Director and Radiation Oncologists to promote positive relationships with Oncology physicians. Responsive to physician concerns regarding operations and patient issues.
