Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center in St. Louis is seeking an experienced oncology nurse to coordinate outpatient care between patients and the healthcare team. You will educate patients, prepare them for procedures, and help ensure safe, evidence-based care across the continuum.

Required are an RN license and a Nursing Diploma/Associate's; a Bachelor's in Nursing is preferred. Monday–Friday, 4–10 hour shifts, with no weekends or on-call in this role.

Qualifications

  • RN license required.
  • Experience in oncology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the health care of select patient populations across the continuum of care.
  • Prepares patient/family for procedures/tests in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Facilitates patient care by assessing physical, psychosocial and emotional needs.
  • Monitors care and data to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Educates patients and families and serves as a resource to the health care team.

Coordinates the health care of select patient populations/designated service across the continuum of care. Responsible for coordination of patient contact, patient education, prepares patient/family for procedure/test in collaboration with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitates patient care by assessing and evaluating patient's physical, psychosocial and emotional needs.
  • Coordinates the delivery of safe and appropriate patient care governed by evidence-based clinical practice.
  • Monitors care and data to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Facilitate the education of patients and families. Acts as a resource to the health care team.
  • Ensures actions meet and support the overall goals of the business.
