Job summary

Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital's Radiation Oncology department treats 25-40 patients daily with advanced imaging and therapy equipment. This PRN RN role coordinates care across the continuum, educates patients and families, and prepares patients for procedures in collaboration with the healthcare team.

Ideal candidates have Radiation Oncology experience, Epic proficiency, and an RN license with 2–5 years of nursing experience.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• 2-5 years of nursing experience.
• Experience in Radiation Oncology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates patient care by assessing and evaluating patient's physical, psychosocial and emotional needs.
• Coordinates the delivery of safe and appropriate patient care governed by evidence-based clinical practice.
• Monitors care and data to optimize patient outcomes.
• Facilitate the education of patients and families. Acts as a resource to the health care team.
• Ensures actions meet and support the overall goals of the business.

Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital offers highly specialized surgical and medical services in an intimate environment and is known for outstanding patient care. With 64 private patient rooms, 14 operating rooms and four intensive care unit rooms, the facility was designed to provide a comforting environment that is innovative, efficient and centered on the patient experience. The campus features a park-like setting with landscaping and a walking path that winds through the grounds and connects to Millennium Park. The Barnes Jewish West County Hospital Department of Radiation Oncology treats 25-40 patients daily. The department has an IX Varian linear accelerator and a Philips Brilliance large bore CT scanner. Physician coverage is from Washington University.

Role Purpose

Coordinates the health care of select patient populations/designated service across the continuum of care. Responsible for coordination of patient contact, patient education, prepares patient/family for procedure/test in collaboration with the healthcare team.
