Job summary

The Florida Department of Health is seeking an experienced professional to evaluate and license radioactive materials uses, review inspections, and develop regulatory guidance. You will perform administrative and technical reviews, interpret Florida statutes, and issue licenses or amendments as required.

This role requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field, strong knowledge of radiation safety, and the ability to work across teams while meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of ionizing radiation, regulations, and licensing processes.
  • Ability to analyze technical data and apply rules to licensing.
  • Experience interpreting Florida Statutes and regulatory guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Review applications for radioactive materials licenses and amendments.
  • Issue or deny licenses and amendments based on regulations.
  • Maintain databases, templates, and macros for the section.
  • Assist in developing licensing procedures and guidance.
  • Respond to radiological emergencies as part of the team.
