Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC seeks an Electrical Engineer, Radiation Effects, to ensure avionics hardware reliability across our Mars-starship mission assets. You will interface with design, manufacturing, integration and mission operations to analyze and mitigate radiation effects on components and PCBA boards.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering and 1+ years in radiation effects, plus experience with radiation testing, modeling, scripting and avionics hardware.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, materials, physics, or other engineering discipline.
  • 1+ years of professional experience in the radiation effects field.
  • Experience with radiation testing and data analysis.
  • Experience scripting to control test hardware.
  • Proficiency with avionics hardware including PCBA, ICs, sensors, and fault diagnosis.
  • Radiation dose safety training is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support cross-discipline team with radiation test results and analysis.
  • Develop component databases and applications for radiation data.
  • Coordinate with supply chain and reliability teams for test data.
  • Review PCN changes to maintain radiation qualification status.
  • Develop testing standards for component and flight PCBA radiation tests.
  • Refine preferred components across programs.
  • Analyze test coverage with circuit design and manufacturing teams.
  • Make recommendations for design and data collection.
